Want to build a network in my house.

Right now I have ADSL. There is a cable going to a modem, and then to a Ethernet over Powerline adapter, and then my computer which has to have another adapter. (Thats because the modem is in the basement, it has to stay like that). I don't like this solution as one adapter costs about 50 Euros, and thats too much.
So this is what i came up with

Network 1
Here i would have to get a very long Ethernet cable, and get it all way upstairs.

Network 2
Here i would just leave the current setup as it is, but plug the power adapter to the router.

So I need some help. Is network 2 even possible (connecting this kind of netgear adapter to a router). And if its possible, will choice 2 provide lower quality connection? And if I get a long ethernet cable and connect it directly from the modem to the router, will this be better than network 1?

If you mean the ones that use your house wire to carry data? Ya they work but they are kinda slow but then it depends on how fast your internet is.

Another thing to try is to move the modem upstairs. If you have any kind of phone line going upstairs it may work. Unlike ethenet dsl already runs on phone lines without a lot of issues.

Depends how hard it is to get the ethenet cable run. It will be more reliable I suspect. Thing that run on the power lines can get interference from anything plugged in the whole house and maybe even the neighbors house depending on how the wires run in the street,

Yeah, I thought about moving it upstairs, but unfortunately after switching operators, i wasn't home and they installed it in the basement, and also plugged some kind of TV cable to it, which i don't know why.
Would I lose quality if I connected the router through the ethernet over power adapter?

First, DHP-300 EOP for you to remove the compatibility issues. Depends on your circumstances allow you, you can try AP or bridge 'extender' instead of using a EOP to increase the signal for your wireless.
