This is my shopping list for my new supercomputer. please advise.

In summary, except I do no game on my PC, I do want to build multimedia-intensive system. The system, ideally, will be not only a platform on which I work, *but also* a *entertainment center* for me. For example, I want to do video-editing, make my new system an digital audio monster, and with the PC, control home-electronic devices e.g. TV, DVD player, and CD player. Well, these are the things I can think of for making the most out of the my new system. Please advise, as well, on the things that I am not even aware of. The above writing will never be wasted, because I think these are the things I want to do with my new system, and I want to build my new system that achieves the above goals.
I currently have the follows:
1. A bunch of huge hdds
- Western DIgital IDE 7200RPM
2. DVD drive and CD-R drive,
and floppy drive of course
- DVD drive: Liteon LTD-163
- Plextor 24x10x40 (PX-W2410A)
3. 3com Network Card
- 3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX)
4. US Robotics 56K Modem
5. NEC MultiSunc LCD 1700V 17" display
I will buy:
1. Intel P-4 CPU 2gig
2. Mobo (**don't know which yet***
, but either MSI or ASUS)
- On-board, USB 2 and SCSI?
I want to have SCSI card only because I may want to get a Plextor UltraPlex CD-ROM which is only available in SCSI. Please note I do not plan to have SCSI HDD.
- I don't care how much I need to spend on this. I want the very top-of-the-line that fits my situation.
3. Radeon 8500 All-In-Wonder 2D/3D Video Card
4. Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
Audio Card
5. Lianli PC-70 case
6. DDRam: 512*2=1024mb/1gig appx.
Again, what else do I need to achieve my goal?
