I was with my dad earlier today and we were pulling out of the parking lot of the mall, which neighbours a public highschool. Well, on our way down said road, a bunch of kids (30++) cross the road 15ft away from the light. They weren't all together, it was more of a single file. They just kept going and going and going. One driver almost hit a couple kids because they came running off the curb when the light was green for the driver.

The ironic part is if the kids were to get hit, the driver would be the one prosecuted.

And on-comming vehicles. My dad kinda of reved and moved an inch or so forward, trying to tell them he wanted to go, but they just kept jumping onto the street. :|

yeah, people now have the mentality that no matter what the situation, I, the pedestrian, have the right of way no matter what.

I'm not surprised. The law pretty much sanctions pedestrians. There are obvious exceptions, of course.
