Just keep it there...and if then let the conversation go like this:

Mr. X: You have a pet in your apt. Pay up.
You: Pet..what pet?
Mr. X: The dog.
You: ohh..hahah..that's not a pet.. That's dinner.

It will work.

I have that game.

Gets boring REAL fast. Wish I rented it instead of bought it.

I now just play once or twice every 2 days just to feed them and take em for a walk and that's it.

It's your problem...

Pay up, give up something else.

What happens if they determine that you tried to pull a fast one. Could violate your lease and you be out the door.

I doubt they would kick me out. Probably just ask for the money.

And if you can not come up with the $$?

You are in violation of the lease. Depending on the market, they may be willing to boot you if you insist on keeping the dog.

They could papeshuffle the rent to cover the pet deposit; then, you could be assesed late fees for non-payment of rent. If it is a management company, they only care about $$ and rules.

screw them, keep the dog hidden when they come over to change filters and only walk it at night, after their office closes or out of their view.. they deserve it, you got old carpets.

I doubt they would ever see him or say anything. But if they did?
I will pay them if they say something, but why not just keep him as long as possible before I have to?

They dont do sh!t...lol.
The most they ever do is a pest control thing, where they check for roaches and ants.

At my complex, if they discover you have a pet, they fine you, then they kick you out. This is explained in detail on my lease contract.
