Want mp3 playback from one source

I've done some searching, and I'm not sure exactly what software I can use to do this. Someone told me Shoutcast won't play them in sync, and I haven't found anything to suit my needs.
What I want, instead of getting a distribution amp to send the sound all over my house, is to just stream the same mp3 simultaneously to the multiple computers I have spread throughout the house. For reasons that I imagine would be obvious, delay would be very undesirable for this. I have a 10/100 switch and 100mbps NICs in all the PCs, so I think there should be sufficient bandwidth.
Anyone have suggestions for me?

Check out slimserver:
http://www.slimp3.com/ or http://www.slimdevices.com/ (both are the same site)

It is designed to work with their special MP3 boxes, and it works pretty well with those. Supposedly it works fine with Winamp and such too, but I haven't worked with it in that capacity. It will synchronize across players, but I'm not sure if it will synchronize across computers accessing through other means.

The server is free, so you can download it and play with it.

The only way I can think to do this is to run cable through the house, or make use of unused wires in your existing phone wiring. Feed an analog audio signal into the wiring from one location, and pull the audio from the wiring in the locations you want to hear music.

You'll have some analog distortion using this method (especially with the phone wiring trick), but I can't think of a way to do this digitally in several rooms at once without introducing very complicated audio sync problems.
