I read the sticky overclocking post, but am still having trouble. are there any good ocing walkthroughs out there for people that are fairly new to overclocking?

"If you have to ask, then it is not for you."

Probibly the most helpfull thing you can do is read up and learn about all the different bios settings and what they do. Overclocking is not for beginners or noobs, and as such, there are no guides geared to that direction (sorry). So buckle down, pull up wikipedia, and start reading up on terms to get used to it. Or google overclocking.

You might try overclockers.com to see if anything there helps (though they have not written an oc manual since the P4 era, so it might not be usefull)

Near the bottom of this page are some links that are supposed to be fairly easy for beginners to understand. Cogman's right, though, you should actually know what you're dealing with before you start the actual process. You wouldn't try to disassemble the engine in your car, if you had never used a wrench before, would you?😉

All you need to start you off in the right direction is the stickies on this section of the forum. Then go read some more, then tinker a bit, then go read, repeat.

Before you start OCing, it's good to know how to put together a computer first. It also helps if you have lots of parts hanging around.

Research overclocking with respect to your specific motherboard, cpu, memory as well for a little familiarity of what's okay/expected.
