Egads... what a mess. Watch for power / electrical stuff running next to & around CAt 5, it may affect you network.
 
See what you need now is a good solid earth shaking earth quake so all those computers perched up high can fall down and get smashed. 🙂
 
Eventually I'll get around to telling you what all those systems are for.... but right now it's time to go to work. All in all, pretty interesting stuff 🙂
 
Demand tripletime overtime to clean that mess up. I hope the jerk that made that mess doesn't stay in the industry. I would hate to see another company get stuck with a rats nest like that one.

Reminds me about the A-hole I worked for. SOB lied his way into the company,made a mess of the network and now the management doesn't dare fire him for incompetence,because they fear the downtime to re tool. Damn government jobs.

BTW,is telco gear in that mess too? Telcos are notorius for sloppy wiring.
 
I hope they plan to increase their is/it budget. Most of those systems are outdated, homebuilt hand-me-downs. If you don't get some decent servers in there, the wires are the least of your problems. 😉
 
yea... there's a couple new servers coming on line that will enable us to get rid of some of the old, outdated systems.

All together, there are probably a dozen different systems running on 9 or so servers. I really haven't had the time to even think about the amount of work I have ahead 🙁

Also, very good eyes Tripleshot, the entire telephone switchboard is in the computer room as well.

 
/wonders what will happen if i run in with a bucket full of water and toss it while spinning around then runs away :Q
