I'm looking to start paintballing. What would be the best gun out there for someone who is new to teh game but can shoot a regular weapon pretty well. Looking for something no more than 200 or so. Any ideas?

Have you tried it yet? If not, go out a few times. Awsome fun to have.

for $200...i'd get a cheap blowback semi auto - a NICE barrel (most important) - this will be all that you can afford for 200.

after that i'd get nitrus/anti-siphon tank - regulator - drop forward - revvy hopper.

Need some clarification. Have you never actually played any sort of paintball games? If you haven't, I recommend just going to a paintball camp and renting the guns they have there before buying your own gun.

any tipman for starters, those suckers rock. but anything under $200 is almost not even worth getting.

Ebay has crazy deals... I sold $500 worth of equipment for about 150

Look for a spyder shutter used w/ some mods and mask and whatnot

You should save up another $100 bucks and get an Ion. They're around $300 but it's a lot better than a spyder or a tipman. If you're dead set on a gun under $200 get a used gun on pbnation.com or one of those other paintball forum sites. You could get a cheap spyder/tipman or even a cocker.

Get a Tipman A5 to start with. Great all-around gun and there are lots of mods for later. One of those includes the flatline barrel, makes the gun more noisy but greater increases your range and accuracy. I believe you can get the gun for ~$150-200 depending on the source.

Good luck and enjoy the sport, I know I do!

First gun rec player I would tell anyone to buy a Tipmann.

My SL-II still works after 14 years.
