Is there a certain OS that is better for gaming systems? just wanting to when all my new stuff gets heree for when I go buy a new OS..

depends. how many games do you play? I mostly play ut2k4, so I use linux because there is a direct port of the game for linux. America's Army also has a direct linux port, so I am set there as well.

If you play a wide variety of games, most likely you will not get them to work under linux without putting some elbow grease into it. I would just stick with XP.
