Wow she had it as a precautionary measure cause cancer runs in her family. The cancer they found was actually very very early stage. She probably would have been okay with just removing it but they couldn't be certain.

Would you make the choice to have both your balls cut off in a similar case? I can imagine the panic but it still seems like an extreme move. Yes I know that's not a good analogy.

Um, losing ball way dif than losing tits, but damn, that sucks. I know what she must have thought. My ex wifes grandmother died of breast cancer and she never told her daughters she had it. She had it for 20 years before she died. So my mother-in-law freaked out, went to docs and sure enough, cancer in a mildly advanced stage. She opted to lose em both.

Very true. Cutting you balls off is equivalent to removing a woman's ovaries, not their breasts. Having your balls removed would change your whole hormonal balance and likely make you fairly effeminate.

No looks like I'm wrong. Her partner's name is Alex and there is one shot I found that makes her look not that attractive but most of the shots she's in she looks fine.

Wonder if she will get implants? She may need them just for her career. Sounds shallow, she's certainly not a porn star, but even as a stand up comedian I can imagine this would negatively affect her. She went in for breast reduction surgery actually so she obviously wanted them to be smaller but I can't imagine this is what she would be happy with. She did this out of fear and a hope that this will nip the problem in the but.

Because they put strain on your back and are otherwise uncomfortable if too large? As far as I understand it many women with large breasts experience sever back pain. And maybe some just don't want to stand out as much as they do.

1. We have friends of the family who had the mother and two of four adult daughters die of breast cancer within a couple years of each other. The two surviving daughters had double radical mastectomies as precautionary measures. Now, more than 15 years later, they are both still alive.

2. I have no idea who Wanda Sykes is, but I wish her well.

no offense (i really don't mean to offend you- i like you, i think, afaik), but re-read that. it sounds really asinine.

you are aware that removing something and then having it not get cancer is not exactly proof that it should have been removed, right?

It wasn't against popular medical advise it was simply on the extreme end of the precautionary measure she could have taken. See MotionMan above, other people have double mastectomies done for precautionary measures too. And when it cross over from expressing your own opinion into rate filled rants is where I have a problem.
