Just more proof that leftists hate a winner. If you ever reach number one in any business, you'll become a leftist target and the victim of idiotic slander and libel.

Microsoft
AOL
McDonalds
Walmart
Intel
nVidia

And the list goes on.

The funniest thing is this: Walmart's direct competition has their own bank... and the leftists STILL don't want Walmart to do the same. Why? Because they "make more money." i.e.: They are winners.

if its not ok for walmart ot have a bank i don't see how it is ok for Target.

because thats the cool thing to do. hate on Wal-mart because they are so large. people even go so far as to make ****** up. such as someone claiming they are a monopoly.

You think walmart getting into banking is a good thing?

Their monopoly isnt in the traditional sense.

They control every aspect of their services.

But they do it in such a way that legally it isnt one.

They make other people send labor to China, they control where those companies get their materials, they control the shipping, they control the warehouses, they control the trucks, and finally they control the stores.

They dont *OWN* all of these things, so it cant be construed as monopolistic/anticompetitive.

Even in the public opinions sense of what a monopoly is, how many "value" department stores are out there now?

K-Mart is bombing, Hills went the way of the dodo, Grocery Stores arent "value", Walmart doesnt compete with "home repair" stores directly, and Target.

So we have Target, and Walmart.

Which one is bigger?

Wow, you must have a PhD in Economics.

I have a stepdad whos a regional director of sales for Walmart, his best friend is a GM whom i worked for (for about a year), ive met the VP of the division, and ive had training as a buyer.

And ive taken 3 economics courses.

But we can go around and around about how qualified i am to speak on the matter 😉

How about you?

Why wouldn't it be?

Is it OK to only own one business?

How does a retail store opening a bank come anywhere close to being a monopoly?

WTF are our schools teachng these days (I mean, besides collectivism and anticapitalism)?

every time you disagree with something you blame liberals...😕

It is a Republican who is co-sponsoring legislation that would prevent Wal-Mart and other non-financial institutions from expanding into retail banking.

hmm wonder how that would effect places that already have banking.

This year, with Democrats in the controlling majority, proponents believe prospects are stronger for passage of a bill to close what they see as a loophole in banking regulation.

Just because a republicrat co-sponsers a law doesn't mean that law is not leftist in nature.

 Stop listening to the BS in college, OK?

Yes, Walmart is a public corporation (you can be private and incorporated too).

Walmart is owned by it's stockholders, who are people.

BTW, where in my post did I say "one?"

once again Amused simplifies everything to make a point...please take all that bullshit that spews from your mouth and STFU already...

My my... Aren't you quite the fscking idiot?

I'm a libertarian, genuis. I oppose probably 60-70% of what Limbaugh stands for.

I love how arguing on the side of freedom is "hate" and "antagonizing." This is the problem with leftists. The only freedom they value is their own. It's just too bad for anyone who makes more money than them or does things they don't like.

Nice try at a personal attack though, but just like your politics your aim is fscked.

If one does look into a bit more you will see about 60 companies are operating industrial banks. This isn't a witch hunt against Walmart. The Fed is growing concerned about keeping commerce and banking seperate.

Besides Wal-Mart, Home Depot, DaimlerChrysler and Cargill have applications pending.

Because they are trying to remain competitive.

Oh, wait... Am I making you hate me by antagonizing you again?

Damn.

I'm not really qualified either. I only have a BA in Economics from UCLA, with Public Accounting experience, and I'm now a Senior Financial Analyst for an internet company. Not to mention I am a sizable investor in a clothing company and am working towards creating relationships at the Walmarts and Targets so we can sell our goods there 😉

Anyway, if you've been following the matter (this was actually a case study back when I was at UCLA) they want to enter the industrial banking business PURELY to cut costs on processing credit card and other payments. Owning all parts of a supply-distribution-retail chain does not make you a monopoly, it just makes you more efficient and gives you greater control to cut costs which ultimate gets passed down to the consumer and wealth added to the investor.

You can call it a personal attack, but I was just making an observation of what an asshole you are.

As far as knowing what values I hold and claiming that I am jealous of someones else's bank account or possessions? WTF did that come from. Perhaps you should step off your high horse and ground yourself a bit.

Wow Amused, how can you support freedom? Don't you know most people are stupid?!?! The elites should lobby for a strong government and restrict people's freedoms and become their masters!

Oh boy! That's the kettle calling the pot a darkie after your attempts at an attack on my politics that COMPLETELY missed the mark.

I hope your aim when pissing is better or I'd hate to see your bathroom.

This was all in the article that was linked in the first post. It didn't require any detective work or a need to "look into" it...

I love everyone defending Wal-Mart and the Wal-Mart bank. Not surprisingly, it's the same trashy people that shop there.

I bet thinking that makes you feel better about yourself. Tell me, does thinking that make you feel better that Target (and 60+ other companies) has their own bank while Walmart was repeatedly refused their own?

I attacked your politics because I thought you listened to Rush? You just seem like a Rush fan 🙂

All you do is attack. Then you attack some more. Anyone who you disagree with is an idiot and a liberal. Twist the facts around to make your point and ridicule some more.

Yeah, I attacked you because that seems to be the only way to have a conversation with you. It is great that you have these wonderful thoughts, but WTF do you have to jam it down everyones throat...all the time
