so i bought an item about 2 weeks ago on walmart.com and selected the Site-to-Store option. This is where they ship the site to the store for free and you go pick it up.

well, it shipped from warehouse to my preferred store and sat there for 12 days. no emails, calls, alerts. i went to the store yesterday and the sales person said 'we can't do anything, you gotta wait for the email notification'

ok, i wait. then i called today and the CSR said the same thing. I told her its been almost 15 days, that's ridiculous. she looks up the order and finds that it was shipped to the wrong store and sitting there. the inventory person at that store apparently didn't bothering doing his job. CSR said she'll call me about what they can do. Well, got a voice mail a few minutes ago that WallieMart decided to cancel the order, return the product back to warehouse, and refund my money. :\ apparently i am not allowed to go the wrong store and pick up my item either

cliffs:
-don't use Walmart Site to Store

Meh, one user's experience in one location. I would be willing to bet not all are like that.

Granted, Walmart doesn't pay for the best and brightest employees, so not exactly shocking either.

I only tried it once and it sucked because of the fact that when you get there, there's 10+ people waiting in line where you have to pick your stuff up which just happens to also be the place for returns.

< $150 at wallmart covers pretty much everything up to cars doesn't it? Or has their amazing value been exagerated.

I used it once to buy a cheap TV stand for my office. Got it in about 10 days. Went to the back of store and handed them the email. They told me to drive around to the back of the store. They loaded the heavy package into my truck. I drove away satisfied.

I buy stuff using site-to-store all the time, never had a problem. If the item isn't picked up in about 20 days, it does go back to the manufacturer and you must pick up the item your ordered at your preferred store.

Friend of mine works at walmart, so i can an additional 10% off as well :)

Next time, log into your walmart account and check the status that way, you can even track your package so you know before any emails are sent to you when it will arrive in store.

I used it once. Shipping email showed that the store had the item. I waited a few days then called the store. They said that they had it and to come down and pick it up.

I think it's a little weird. They give you something like a 36 hour window in which to come get the item (I don't know if they are pretty lax about you missing that or if they cancel immediately). Not always going to be able to fit a walmart trip into a day and a half window.

that's the thing, i logged in and noticed tracking said that it was signed and delivered at the store. it doesn't actually tell you what store. so it sat in the wrong store for weeks. every CSR kept saying wait for the email notification....which never came because they never processed the item at the store

I used it from their PS3 combo and it was fine, other than one game showing up two days after the PS3 and first game.

Just used Staples version and it looks like it takes them over a week to get the product to the store. Guess that's faster than Wal-mart was.

I used Circuit City's order online and pick up at store feature. When I got there, they told me they just sold the last one a few minutes ago.

If WalMart keeps this up, I might actually start to like them.
