Walmart no longer takes credit cards???

no actually, they generate alot of business for mastercard. wal-mart got the leverage here. I remember watching this on the news. Something about raising fees or something

Personally I'm thinking that companies must be pissed that they ever even started accepting CCs, since all CCs do is continual leech away profits. Still, it's out of their hands now, or should be. I would like to see how walmart is doing in a two months and whether they need to backtrack on this. I will say that if they're successful and we, as consumers, let them pull it off, it's just a matter of time until everywhere starts rejecting CCs.

Hell, if they bring down the credit card companies, it wouldn't be all bad.
 
It has to be a local thing cause i used the school credit card just yesterday at walmart to buy some stuff for my lab, where I work at. If that end up being a nationwide thing wally-world will lose some $$$$$ and I know that the family don't want to do that.

Also, why would they accept a mastercard debit card? Will they require you to use the pin, or use it as an MC? If it's the latter, how is it different from not accepting a mastercard? Just cause Mastercard provides no real service other then make it easier to spend your money. They tried to jack up their fees and wal-mart said F U. and that was that. Big mistake on Discover to lose wal mart.

I usually dont either but my son wanted this one specific toy for his birthday. I went to 3 other places before I decided to check out Wallyworld. They had it, no one else did, so I kind of had to shop there.

Up her in Michigan we have Meijers, which is just like Walmart, but much better. The Walmarts near me are basically a meeting place for all the white trash in town. I think they have meetings there every Thursday.
 
Look at Walmarts clientele. They might not take Mastercard, but they'll damn sure still accept squirrel pelts, possum stew and homemade moonshine in trade for their crap. As long as there's an internet with which to shop no force on earth could drag me into a Walmart.
 
We got notice at work that WalMart no longer takes MasterCard logoed debit cards that do not have a PIN. For example, I have a separate card I can use for prescription medicines and over-the-counter medicines. It's a new benefit from work. It has the MasterCard logo but it is a debit card but has no PIN so it acts as a credit card. WalMart will not accept that.
 
So is it all Mastercards, or only debit Mastercards that they dont accept anymore? I could swear I used my CC, but I might have used my debit card....
 
It's apparently MasterCard debit cards that do not have a PIN (if you have to swipe it as a credit card and not enter a PIN and it has a MasterCard logo, it's a no go at WalMart)

Wal-Mart Credit Card.

WalMart Payment Options
 
You guys are all looking at it from your end, but my parents run a small store......we have a minum of $5.50 or we charge .50 under $5.50 to run any type of credit cards and we don't accept mastercard. These companies charge us EVERY credit card transaction we run!!! When you go and get something like a $.79 candy and try to run credit card, walmart, etc....loses money!!! MORONS! I hate people who do that........jesus.......goto the bank and put some DAMN cash in ur wallet!!!

hmm odd why would wal-mart have a mastercard you can get? seems odd that they would have it but not allow you to use it.

or better yet read the fvucking site naa to easy.

they are not alloweing Mastercard DEBIT cards. your Mastercard CC will still be used (heck i uesd mine today!)\

Wow you violate the argement with the credi card company. I don't care if you loose money it isn't my job. I will tell you to restock it if you don't like the fees.
