Walmart - Movie size Candy boxes

Their prices on those boxes are NUTS. I remember a few years ago I saw they had one of my Bottle Caps for $1 for a big ass box. That's one of my favorite candies, apparently this is their normal price. Mike N Ike's are great too 😀 The same size box is like $2 something at the grocery store up the street.

Price per oz is higher than the bigger bag on some of the candies. Last comparison we did was $1 for 3.5 oz of Sour Patch or $1.86 for an 8 oz bag.

The boxes have always been a $1. But the better news is walmart is going to start selling a snack packs..30 count! Self promotion i work there 😛

Yup. Walgreens is always at this price as well... and you don't have to see the people in walmart D:

People at Walmart...you mean like these people?

Some people like candy. Some people like it when they go see a movie. Some people don't like paying $5 for the same box at the theater, so it's nice to know where you can get it for the proper price. What do you care why people want to save money and what they save it on?

5 star thread.

most places have similar pricing on these and yes, it beats the hell out of paying $5 at a movie theater.

I'd actually like to see a movie theater open up that doesn't rely on price gouging. you'd get more business if your amenities were better and cheaper. You'd also sell more quantity so the difference in sales would likely be negligible.

Unfortunately it's the nature of the business. They don't make as much on tickets as you'd expect so you have to do what you can to make it up... and the only thing else they sell is food. So it's either raise ticket prices, raise food prices, cut the operating hours, cut staff, find other things to sell, or a combination of things.

IMO more theaters need to convert to the full food service that I've seen. Some places have full meals and beer. It's a little pricey but really not much more than restaurant stuff. For whatever reason I don't feel as bad paying so much on real food and beer.

business opportunity-buy a ton of this candy sell at the movie theater in the corner. Hopefully you make a profit before you're caught.
