Just found out we're supposed to be getting a WalMart Express around here next year..

http://www.denverpost.com/pennyparker/ci_18967601

Anyone have one near them? is it a supermarket concept? or a mini-walmart?

PS walmart haters...stay out.. i dont care if you dont like it.. or if it puts mom&pop out of business, or if they're the devil incarnate.

i'm just looking for info on the type of store this is.

So, if the only opinions in this thread allowed are "Wow, you're getting a Walmart express! Holy Shit!! That's fucking awesome! You've love it!" then why the fuck did you make the thread in the first place.

We have some WalMart neighborhood markets, and they are great. If you are just popping in for a few items you can get in and out quick and they prices are about the same as a large WalMart.

read the title... Any Experience

If you're experience is that its a bad place, then fine... i will accept that.

but if you're gonna come into the thread to say "lol walmart sucks who would want to go to walmart" ... crap somewhere else.

You seem sensitive about walmart. You looking to work there?

The day may come when Walmart will acquire 7-eleven from their Japanese owners. Then all the complainers will be cheering about lower prices than any other convenience store.

This looks like Walmarts response to Aldi and Trader Joe's. The articles say it's in response to the Dollar stores but they don't sell much grocery. I don't see Walmart appealing to the Trader Joe's clientele and Walmart will have difficulty matching Aldi prices.

If Walmart is interested in marketshare and new market, they need to go after ethinic Asian stores like Super H-Mart and Assi. Going small and competing with TJ's and Aldi is a mistake.

They're all going to be slightly different based on location (e.g. what kind of building they move into). Hybrid grocery store/dollar store concept. Some groceries but not full service (no butcher, small produce selction).

I heard this on the radio some time ago. These were designed to compete with the dollar stores that have thrived over the last few years because of the economy. I would think "Family Dollar" style.

WE have one of those, they are called wall-greens though.
The real question: do they have hard liqueur?

lol walmart sucks who would want to go to walmart

just curious, but what exactly do you feel sucks about it?
In my area, they have the most competitive prices and ridiculous selection of products. They forced all the other dept stores to sell specialty or boutique products and lower the cost of typical brand foods n goods.
By comparison in my area, i would say Kmart and Target suck due to less selection. Meijers in my area is about the same but less grocery selection and the slowest cashiers in history.

actually, we have 2 Walmarts in my town. thats how packed they always are.

I've had some weird experiences at Walmart, but the time you shop makes all the difference in the world. If you go in on a Sunday morning, the store is clean and it is just as calm as Target. If you go at 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon the atmosphere is chaotic as hell. The store is dirty, there are clothes thrown on the floor in some departments and the customers look like they were brought in from a third world country.
