Wallet just cried... QUAD SLI ON CONROE 965

A group of uber-geeks got Quad SLI to work on Conroe 965 Chipset! Nvidia is under a lot of pressure from what I hear to enable SLi on Intel Chipsets, and this shows that even Quad SLi can work!

Conroe will be a no brainer then. A platform that will support either Crossfire or SLI. Good stuff.

Yessir..I think I have got my answer. 965 ASUS Mobo with Quad SLi 7950 GX2's with custom water blocks! Yes I have waited a long time to be able to afford this..been saving for 3 years!:shocked:

Somehow I think a 965 will be quite limiting for quadsli, maybe 975 but for the 965 the second slot is 4x which I would think would be a limiting factor on the 7950.

I thought that 965 was 8X/8X and only the Nforce 590 provided full 16X/16X..or is this stupid newbish information?

Anyway, how much does the 7950GX2 really use, all 8X, or does it really need full 16x?

Why the 975x boards? I thought the 965 were an overall better buy snce they were form the get-go designed for Conroe.
