after finally getting sick of the HF, I ultimately decided to join the world-famous Anandtech forum...

So how is it like to be a part of the community ? Who are people to be afraid of ? Or who are people to respect ?

I hope this forum is a little more civilized than others... and hopefully I'll enjoy my time here !

Please don't think I am an idiot - I was simply mad at a guy who linked to content that was on my own webspace and I expressed my feelings towards him in a thread. End of story.

I'm glad not to be a part of it anymore, to be honest.

I saw Platinum members, Golden members, Junior members and so on. Does it depend on the time you've been around or on the post count ?

I just noticed that this forum holds over 50000 members. WOW, now that is what I call a big forum

I am afraid that I'll get attached fairly soon... this seems to be a good place to gather info and to hang out. We'll see.

Oh btw - is there a list of banned words ? I couldn't find it in the help section.

You may find a &quot;kinder, gentler AT.&quot; then what you would of found a few weeks ago. This is a great place but especially Off Topic is not for the thin-skinned. However, the illustrious Red Dawn has set an example and challenged everyone to be a little less flame oriented in recent weeks.

I'm neither thin-skinned, nor dumb enough not to defend my opinion...

I am also well prepared for hot and nasty discussions, but I'm not really interested in being flamed for having a certain opinion. Some people don't seem to be mature enough to accept other people's opinion - therefore they deserve to be ignored.
