Walk Outs...

I dunno, but last week's Boston Public got me thinking. How many other people had major walk outs at their high schools and for what reason?

My senior year there was a walkout over the administration trying to impliment a dress code. Amazingly, it worked. Although, that could be because 90% of the teachers supported us completely.

IN high school abunch of morons had a war protest after lunch. Stay in the quad after lunch, and they all detention😀

Oh and we still went to war with Iraq.

The administration told all the teachers to take attendance. All the teachers lied about the students that were not there. So in total about 12 people got detention.

Nothing besides Senior ditch day at Elgin High. All the Seniors don't bother to go. Either does half the school. When your class has 812 people ( my grad class did ) and only 8 show up, you know you are flucked 😛

Once in awhile, a few people would tell everyone "We're protesting <WHATEVER> and we're having a walkout halfway through <CLASS>" but they were all talk and no show. I guess it works on TV.

Waaaaaay back when..

My graduating class had almost 1,100 people. Yes, eleven-hundred. We tried to do senior ditch day. The dean caught wind of it. They made an announcement over the PA that anyone not showing on the day alleged to be ditch day wouldn't be allowed to walk the stage for graduation. They kept their word. About 3 dozen people did not graduate with their peers..they picked up their diplomas, with their parents, a week later. :|

I went to a very repressive school...does it show in all my neurosis?

Yeah, My school had a walkout my junior year. We were protesting about some serious issues actually, corruption in the schoolboard, forced resignation of our principal...it was fun stuff.
