Sam Walton would not be happy with today's Walmart.

He was a big supporter of things being American made. He wanted Walmart to be the BEST retailer...not necessarily the biggest.

A lot of things simple ARE NOT made in the U.S. anymore.. AT ALL.. it would be IMPOSSIBLE for Walmart to only carry goods made here. Not to mention they would all be overpriced.

Both true statments.:)

Yes, both True and both so sad especially the 2nd one.

Only the Radical Right Elite would demote America to nothing more than a population of Island folk that can't make anything for themselves in the name of the almighty dollar.

ReiAyanami, many people were saying in the 1980's that it was only a matter of time before the Japanese owned the US. Look what happened to their ecomomy recently.

Wal-Mart is evil. They hand out Medicare applications to employees upon hire. Paying crap wages to part-time employees is evil. Do not shop at Wal-Mart what you save today you pay for by April 15. It is a crappy way to get the government to subsidize your business.

That was expected. They are an Island that is 110% dependent on outside Countries for resources. It was only a matter of time before things caught up to them. Technology was only a short term gain for them.

I work for walmart (sams' club) and there are many many reasons they dominate their competition. It ranges from superior technology and inventory control, to FAR better manager training and keeping the stores Union-free.

They give regular raises and pay well (sams is one of the best paying stores in my entire region that isnt comision-based).

Sam's Club is not Walmart the same way that Ralph grocerystore is not Food for less.
