dey r teh gud!!

One of my co-workers has been getting meals there and they look really good. he said they taste good too. so today i decided to try one. apparently its mostly unhealthy fried food type stuff, but it is good!

I had popcorn chicken, seasoned potato wedges, and mac & cheese. $3.88 for the meal and you get a good sized portion of chicken (maybe 20 or so), several wedges (mayeb 10), and a big scoop of mac & cheese.

for portion size, price, and taste you can't beat $3.88

I'll have to see what else they have.

interesting, where is this Walmart? All the ones I go to have McDonalds in them, don't know if they'd throw a Deli in too. But Popcorn Chicken sounds DELICIOUS right about now. I don't got o Walmart much but I might need to see if any in my area have a deli now.

Mmmmm, Subway.

he is talking about the deli not the eating place.

but yeah the deli has great fried chicken (pretty damn cheap also), the chicken strips are good. though a few years ago they stoped the spicy chicken strips. those were great.

also the regular deli meat is good. they have such a high rate of turnover on it that its always fresh

so Deli's are in lots of Walmarts? I've never seen one, of course I've never went into a Walmart looking to get Chicken Strips, but if I can get a meal like the OP had for $3.88 sign me up! :)

Has anyone ever tried the subs that are in the cooler by the deli? They are huge and they are 4.98 or something.

The honey bbq boneless chicken things are choice. I call them things cause they're not really tenders...they're more like bites.

Definitely good.

On a side note, I had a bad experience at Walmart's meat dept. I was trying to buy a 5lb pre-packaged tube of 80/20 hamburger 2 days ago. I got to the checkout and realized that the meat smelled like feces....I mean, it didn't smell like rotting meat, it smelled like human waste. Needless to say, I called a manager and went straight to the bathroom to wash my hands after handling the package. Beware if you purchase anything from their meat department... QC may not be as good as you would expect since they ship everything in from outside and don't actually process the meat themselves. A real butcher is more likely to detect bad meat before they package it and place it on the shelves.

the meat dept varies WIDELY from store to store, you have to be vigilant when picking your package of meat

Don't buy anything from the "fresh" meat from the meat department. i grabbed a steak from them once. it looked good. i get it home open it to season for the grill and man it stunk. the other side was green.

i buy all red meat from th e local butcher in bulk and freeze it. its just as cheap as wal-mart but its far better meat.
