Well i dunno, maybe there will be more cheaper cards tomorrow? I do have the money for this so its like, when when when when????

There isn't a guarantee that all cards can do 700/2000. I wish there were pre-launch reviews then a better opinion could be drawn. I will read as many OC results as I can before I actually order. If they all go that fast I will buy the reference XFX or EVGA.

I don't think it's really going to matter which SKU you buy (they all use the same crappy cooler) except maybe if you are worried that OCing will void your warranty.

Not worried about the warranty, just want to make sure that it's worth sending back the Fatal1ty. I don't know if they actually cherry picked these or if they all do 700/2000.

Thats great news! Even if the MSRP of the EVGA Geforce 8800 GT is $299 to $350 you still will be able to pay for shipping from your original EVGA Geforce 8800 GTS 640 purchase price and depending if its $299 or $350 you will get a hefty return check as well! Perfect time to step up as long as the Geforce 8800 GT benchmarks are true! Even if its only just as fast or a little faster than the Geforce 8800 GTS 640 its still worth it because you save some money! I think it will be at least faster though but I guess we will find out monday for sure.

Judging by recent OC'd versions of most cards from pretty much every manufacturer, I would place my bets that the non OC version could reach the speeds of the factory OC'd versions, I look back to when my MSI 8800GTX could reach far and beyond the 'ultima extreme pwnage' editions but hey its up to you, the factory OC'd does give a little piece of mind 🙂.

well one can argue that an OC's version will most likely be able to OC even higher still, right? While its not guaranteed, the odds are honestly better on the OC'd version

Edit: I would imagine that the 8800GTS 320 is still worth more than $150, I mean look at how much the 512 is going for right now. There is no way the 256 version (if that is better than the GTS) can push the 320 down that much.
