Waiting to hear on a job offer (Update)

The lead person in this said that she would be contacting everyone today. In the general experience of people waiting, is it more promising to hear in the morning or afternoon?

Thoughts?

Edit: I was given a verbal offer aboutr 20 minutes ago.

My experience has been generally people who got the jobs get contacted in the morning and those who didn't near the end of the day.

Generally if you aren't hired on the spot then you are placed in the "beta" category, fighting for the scraps of a lower-level monkey job.

I think it varies a LOT from company to company. I would say that the more bureaucracy to deal with the more the time you are notified is randomized as you are notified only when XX items have been checked off.

It varies. Sometimes the mofo don't get to you quickly enough so you go out and accept another offer. And when the prick does get back to you, you're so pissed off on their tardiness that you want to shoot someone. Because if they were quick and did their god damn job the way their paid to do, you'd have the job you've always wanted and didn't have to accept another offer. And you wouldn't have to think that companies and HR depts suck and Michael Scott was right about Toby all along.
