Wait until Black Friday for a system build? What sort of deals can I expect?

So I'm thinking about building a new system (yeah, I know it's exactly the wrong time in the product cycle).

Deals seem to be really, really thin on the ground right now. (I've picked up a power supply and some thermal paste, but that's it).

It occurred to me that it would be a good idea to order on Black Friday. Is this a good idea? What could I expect in the way of deals on various parts?

If you need a hard drive in the next 3-6 months, [thread=2198560]get it now[/thread]!

Otherwise, you might get some good deals on Black Friday or "Cyber Monday", but I wouldn't hold your breath.

idk how much deals you're actually going to be able to find during black friday, to be honest.
but from my past experiences in staying up all night, i know a lot of more generic products goes on sale... like tv's, monitors, printers, external HD, etc.
so if youre looking for monitors to go duel or even triple screen, that would be the day to buy all your stuff.

Maybe GPU? I'm honestly thinking of running integrated graphics until the 28nm cards; I know there are a lot of people waiting to upgrade to next generation. They need something to tempt...

BF deals are usually more prevalent for consumer electronics and prebuilt systems than on specific components. You'd have to find a really good deal indeed to base your whole build around that part.

One thing to look out for deals on are monitors. They're usually the lowest-end TN crap, but they're very cheap low-end TN crap.
