Wait or buy?

Currently looking at 6600GT or 6800 AGP. Should I wait?

I jumped on the leadtek 6800 refurbished deal they had at newegg for $149 shipped. It gave me a hell of a lot of problems (graphics corruption, etc), but fixed it by re-applying the heatsink properly Requested an RMA after I noticed the problem but won't send it back. It's working too good now.

There's no telling when the price will go down more, but I don't regret it at all since people are still selling these used for $170-$200

It looks like they have a PNY refurb in stock now for $153:

Whether you wait is up to how much you want to game right now. Prices will ALWAYS drop over time, period. The "should I wait or buy now" question always has the same answer.

As for whether prices are going to plummet more quickly in the near term due to the 7800GTX release, I doubt AGP will see much price effect. The 6800-line PCI-E variants are coming down in line with the usual price curve, but AGP was already closer to the centerline. If you're ready to upgrade to a new AGP card, there's no extra special reason to wait another month now that there isn't always.

I would wait due to the recent ATI price drop rumor. 25% is a big deal.

I jumped on the 6800NU deal @ Newegg. If ATI goes down as much or more than rumored, i may switch.
