Wait a minute, is sitting in the backseat considered rude while Uber?

I didn't even think that was a thing. Am I supposed to sit in the passenger? I thought they didn't prefer that either.

Never heard of that. Maybe if it was a sports car or something. I've seen some Youtube videos where they get picked up in a Lambo that only has a passenger seat. Never seen anyone hop in the front otherwise...

I heard somewhere that sitting in the front seat is for if you want to talk with your driver, and sitting in the back is for if you don't.

If i'm solo, I will usually get in the front unless there is stuff up there that would make for a few uncomfortable moments where either they are I move stuff in order to sit.

If I am with just 1 other person I will pretty much always sit in the back with them. If it is 3 people, usually 1 up front 2 in back.

I've always just sat in the back. 4.94 rating after 25 or so trips so either not many care or I've been lucky

I use Lyft (the less evil one) and I've always sat in the back.

They're unlicensed taxi services. Do you normally ride in the front seat taking a taxi?

I wish this was a thing, but it's not. :( . I always sit in the back and almost always the driver wants to talk, which I really dislike.

I would also not sit in the front of a ride share car unless all the other seats are occupied personally

Since I've never used a service, I'd ask. "Where would you like me to sit?". It's their car, and it's easy enough.

Always sit in the back. Only sit in the front if there are already two people in the back.

I would scoff a lot, wait outside until my door is opened for me, and address the driver as "Jeeves", all the while being as vague and hermetic as possible about my exact destination.

i took an uber at 2AM last month and was so tired i accidentally sat in the front. he seemed to think it was super awkward, so i tipped him pretty good.

and then for some reason uber charged me for the tip, but cancelled the main trip charge of 50$. it's bizarre - in the app it shows i paid him, but in paypal it shows they charged me, then uber cancelled it. i never hit cancel in the app though, the app still says i paid for the trip.

i felt bad but didn't know what to do, so i didn't get ahold of them. he probably gave me a 1 star and i'll never be able to get an uber ride ever again.
