My boss sits right next to me. She is a very young, yet she is a very mature manager. We always have a great time talking about work and she trusts me a lot to get some projects done.
So I got handed a job of throwing together a sharepoint server, some forum of my choice and a wiki.
So one day I over hear her get a call. She immediately gets up and walks into our director's office. After her meeting, she walks back to our area, faces two other teammates and hands off the project to two other techs. Ummm, okay. No pride lost, sharepoint is easy. I thought I could spend sometime getting creative for once. Oh well.
I take my lunch, bring my food back to my cube, and I get an email from our director. He wants to see me in his office when am I get back from lunch. I only had a few minutes left. So I wash my hands, splash some water on my face and then head into the office.
He has me close the door, then asks me to take a seat.
He first asks me how my day is going, how is the family, all that. Sounds like he is trying to act human before firing me. Not saying he isn't human. But I'm sure people get nervous before letting someone go.
Then, I here him say, "we have a new opportunity for you..."
Next thing I know, I have title change, new department (in fact my own department) and I get 1 or 2 new hires next year that work for me. And most of all, compensation!
Sorry, ATOT is my blog. I am just so excited, I had to share.
Forgive me
