Wahabism: The Dark side of Islam Understanding the Hatred

Wahabism is apparently the main version of Islam that promotes the more violent parts of the Islamic faith, highjacking the religion to meet political aspirations for many leaders in the middle east.

One Analyst described it this way: To understand Wahabism for Americans would be to picture the KKK taking over Alaska and all of its oil refineries and then using the massive amount of prophits from that oil and opening schools all over the US teaching their version of Christianity.

It was a very interesting analysis.

Thoughts?

So you're going to make me go all the way over to google.com and actually do a search on my own? You heartless bastard.😉

I found another Link

Interesting take. The author is Muslim and clearly biased against other religions but he adresses the destruction wahabism is causing Islam.

Ohhhh..I thought it was Wahsabi: The dar side of Islam.

I was thinking what on earth does Raw fish have to do with religion.

This is an old method of working the populace into a frenzy by appealling to their base instincts and fears, i.e., Fascism, Germany, the 1920's. It has worked for milleniums and continues to be effective to this day. Pick your poison.

Whats amazing is how widespread it is.

<< I knew it was big in Saudi Arabia...didn't know how far it had spread though >>

From my reading its all over Iraq, Iran, Syria, some of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Afganistan and Pakistan.

The reason its so prevelant is because it is being fueled by oil money.

Armed with this knowledge, what can we, who protest the terrorist activity in the middle east, do with it?

Not much. This is what the true believers on Islam need to preach and desiminate to the 1.6 billion followers, a goodly portion who appaerently believe in this Wahabism. What is most revealing is the Suadi Arabia position.I can tell you, when they have their emmesaries speak to the West and to the news sources about how they are not involved in terrorism, do not believe them. They are thick in it. What in the hell where they thinking when they publically held a telethon raising 90 million for Palestinains who where bobing Israelis? Is that not blatent support for the enemy of freedom anddemocracy? You bet. arab states do not have democracies. They have monarchs and War Barrons and theologians. Their way of life and justice is as barbaric as if we were living in the stone age. They are using the wealth from oil to butress their lifestyle. We see on the news the opulance of the wealthy Arab princes and kings, who have harams and eunichs, and practice more obscene lifestyles, all at the behest of their oil wealth. But the vast majority of people in these countries are dirt poor, living in squaller and begging for handouts from these oil barron princes.

We should seek to cut off in total our dependance on that oil.Without money, these people would be drivenback into being the camal jockeys they where for centuries before Shell and AMOCO built wells and refineries in their land. Our greed fed this insane proposition. We wanted the oil under the sand, and when Arabs figured the value in that oil, well...... the rest is history.

My $.02:Q

It's widespread because the Muslim community is large and widespread. The message is targeted to a specific audience.

You won't gain any converts if you're preaching the evils of Zionism and the ways of the West to Jews at a luncheon in New York. You will however, gain acceptance throughout the Muslim world including the diaspora living in the USA. Members of a tight-knit culture, religious or secular, still share common roots. The perceived threat to their culture is the bond that causes them to fall prey to propaganda regardless of where they reside.

If you moved to Chile tomorrow, you would still be an American in mind and philosophical ideals. It would be a very long time before you would ever become a Chilean, if ever.
