True, the style but that was in the 90's because of trend. S.C. don't need them when we have the Waffle House.

I remember wafflestompers...but I had been wearing Vibram lug soled boots since the 60's...so never understood the craze.

Part of the reason they got that name was that they were cheapo ... in other words not close to the quality level of a genuine Vibram sole, especially in terms of traction on stuff like wet tree roots.
