Doubt anyone knows this but...

I need to find a cheap sleeping bag that's comfortable, water resistant, good for both cold and warm weather. and can be compressed into a stuff sack. Any suggestions??

What really do you need it for?

In the south, just a regular light blanket or sheet will do you justice for all but the coldest of winter nights. For the north, you'll need a really heavy bag, so I'd just suggest getting a heavy piece for cold weather and using a sheet or such for summers. As for brands, I couldn't tell you - you'd have to spend an obscene amount of cash to notice any difference from a walmart special.

yeah, what sort of application are you looking at? ARe you backpacking or just car camping? Furthermore, how low of a temp do you really need to go?

EDIT: also, price range?

Army Surplus stores are good for that. You can get a used quality down-fill bag suited to -20c or so for like $60-70. They often come with liners and canvas outers too.

you know I dig down, but I could never get myself to buy one. Ive never needed something for that sort of cold (well once when I went snow camping). But the thing is, when you get them wet, they are useless. Thats the reason I could never bring myself to buy one.

I'm looking for something that can take temps in the 30's without freezing my ass off. obviously the cheaper the better. I am going camping in maine thiw weekend ands temps in the mountains are ecpected to be in the mid 30's. being a backpacker/hiker ideally I want it to be light. I looked at EMS, and they had the Boreal 20 for 139. THat seems pretty expensive and If I could get a nice comfy one foe half the price I'd be set. But as of right now, that looks like the best option...... ughhh
