W2K Update/Voodoo5500 Drivers

Just wondering if anyone got the Windows update of the voodoo 5500 drivers to Download and install right? Mine keeps saying failed.
Also does anyone know what the heck this is in the first place? (Newer then 3dfx's Site)

Note:This is coming from the Microsoft Windows Update, under the device drivers section.

Remember to always uninstall 3DFX Tools before updateing your drivers. I'd pass on the MS drivers btw, and get any updated drivers freom 3DFX Gamers.

I saw this as well. I completed build of my new system yesterday, and upon accessing the product site of Windows Update you see this pick if you indeed have a V5 card.The update is under "Device Drivers" section of the download site.

I did not download these, however. I am curious as to their purpose.

I need to spend some time looking through the multitude of tweaks provided by the 3dfx software, I'm definitely impressed by the custom nature of the driverset.

I was having a problem with a game called Warlords Battlecry. I had the latest drivers for the V5 (1.04.00) and the latest patch for WB. The screen kept going black durning play. If I moved the mouse, the map would re-appear. I ended up looking to Windows Update to see if there was anything from MS for the V5. MS Update said it had newer drivers for me, so I downloaded them. I rebooted, got back into the game, and haven't had any problems with the game since.
