W2K - Removed account from a domain, can't log in

Hey guys

I recently setup a wireless network in my house, and my dad wanted to see if he could go online downstairs with his work laptop. I installed an Orinoco Gold card in his laptop and got the wireless options all set.

However, his laptop still didn't connect to the internet so I changed some of his network settings.

His laptop is from Boeing and was part of the Boeing domain (none of his local files are important, so not much of a security risk).

I changed his domain to AT&T's workgroup. I restarted his laptop, but when the W2K login screen came on, the laptop wouldn't let him login because he wasn't part of Boeing's domain anymore.

Well, now he can't even log into his laptop. Is there anything I can do? Or does he have to take his laptop to the Administrator and have the admin change the settings?

thanks

Unless you know the local administrator account password, you're SOL.

Have him call the helpdesk at the office and admit to them what his snotnose kid did. 😀

Tell him to have the administrator to make him (your dad) an administrator on his machine (local). Then log on to that account locally and setup your new domain from there. It will create a new profile for that domain while keeping his other domain profile intact.
