W2K networking question

I've got two machines connected via an SMC Barricade. They both have winMe installed on them and with both running it, share files with zero problems. On my dual machine I've also got w2k installed, and that is where my problems lies. If I'm on that machine I can access the machine running ME but visa-vesa it's a no go. It keeps asking me for a password and the thing is, for the life of me I can't remember what I set it to. Can someone either tell me where within the OS I can find that password or how to reset it???

Thanks

I believe it's stored under the sharing options per folder... Right click on the folder you're having trouble accessing, choose "Sharing...", & disable the password.

But I could be wrong, it's happened before...

Create a user and password under Control Panel>Users & Passwords that matches the login name and password that you're using on the ME machine. Make sure you give that user permissions to access the folders you want to see (right-click on folder in Windows Explorer>sharing...)

Alternatively, if the ME machine is giving you the option to "Log in as..." (or something along those lines) to the 2K machine, then you could theoretically use any username/password set up on the 2K machine (including your regular 2K login and/or Administrator).

Or you could enable the Guest account on the 2K machine under the same Control Panel>Users & Passwords.

On your dual boot drive, is win2k on ntfs partition? if so, your FAT drives will never be able to read it and it will prompt you for a password.

just create a new user account on your w2k and login from you WinME
you should be able to access everything (shared) fine.
