W2K - How can I get apps to run at a certain priority?

There are some apps I have installed, such as Nero, EAC and one or two others which always run as 'High' priority. When Nero is burning at x12, or when EAC is ripping a CD in Secure mode, the machine response drops considerably. I'd like to be able to have these apps always run at a low priority without having to go into Task Manager every time they start.

Is it possible to set the default run priority?

Hi,

Go to the command prompt and take a look at the "start" command.
start /? for help.

You would be looking for something like start /normal <app>.

Or you can press ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager. In there, go to the Processes tab and chose the one you want to change (like nero.exe). Right click on it and there is an option to change the priority. When you change it's priority, Windows will say something like, "this could screw things are, are you sure?", just hit yes.
