W2K Detonator Driver on MVP3 .. need help!!

I'm running my K6-III+450@600 on an an VIA MVP3 chipset m/b. I've heard that the 7.xx and 6.31&up Detonator drivers really tear down the D3D performance on m/bs with these chipsets.

So I ran 3DMark2000 and it's true!! .. I only got 1500 3DMarks!! :-(
My video card is a GeForce2 MX.
They say for Win9x/ME, detonator ver 6.27 and below will solve this matter, but I'm running on W2K .. I've tried it and still got about 1500 marks. What to do!?
Am I doomed!? ...

I just found this thread while searching for the same info, so I thought I'd bump it up again...

I have a K62-400 on Epox MVP3G-M mobo (soon to be upgraded) with a new Asus v7700 32mb.
Which drivers work best with this and Win2k?
