Hell yeah. Had plenty of flat space to put your drink and an ashtray. Why upright games never had a cup-holder is a great life mystery.

You weren't supposed to be drinking at the machines. It leads to spills and sticky buttons/shorted machines.
edit: except cocktail machines (horizontal) which are appropriately protected.
