I'll have to make sure I wear my w00t! t-shirt... j/k ;)

My biggest fear is dead silence. Though I am a good listener, I am horrible at starting a good conversation and keeping it going. Any ideas? I don't think I want to ask the cliche questions like "where are you from?"

If the conversation starts waning, just whip it out then look at her say "Well?!? It ain't gonna suck itself"

Chicks love that.

Try to think of some questions ahead of time based on what you know about her but that are fairly open-ended. Trust me, women like to talk. ;) Then just listen and come up with more as you go along.

You are only interesting and fun in a relationship if you can come up with things to talk about. Be witty. Listeners suck. You best be working on that big time I'll tell you right now.

You're not listening, Padawan. Be yourself, relax, and enjoy it.

If you stress out about dead silence, about what you should say to her, about how to impress her, about when to ask for her phone number, about whether you should get her phone number at all, about whether you should pay, about whether you should ask her out again... you're going to totally miss out on the experience of your first date. You're going to worry yourself out of a second date if you don't relax and simply enjoy going out with her.

Look, it's easy. Do you like her? Obviously. So, what do you want to know about her? Ask her questions every now and then. Allow her to ask you questions as well. But don't stress out, constantly saying to yourself, "Am I asking too many questions? Am I asking enough questions? Maybe I should speak? Maybe she should speak? Maybe this, maybe that, maybemaybemaybewhatifIdon'tdothingsrightand..."

Hey. Viper. She's talkin' to you, and you're missin' it, cause you're in your own world of worry.

Be yourself...
relax...
and enjoy it.

that is one of these problems that go away if you get enough practice.

In lieu of starting a good conversation, you can always start a good fire. That usually gets people distracted.

If you forget your lighter, just pretend you're starting a Nef thread on ATOT.

Why hasn't anyone demanded pics yet?! Jeez! Its like everyone went to sleep or something... *looks at time

Ask her about classes. A lot of people recommend the asking her questions to get her to talk about herself, but I find the best thing is to find something you partially disagree on so you can have a friendly banter with some laughs as you argue with each other.

Do not pull out your weener and ask her to touch it. The date will be over, and charges will be filed. Trust me, I know.

Umm, yeah that would've helped I think. Show some interest or sumpin'. And all guys pay on a first date.

Well it's not like I don't see her around campus. And I know where she lives. And I could probably get her number online if I wanted to. I don't know though, maybe I should've still asked for it.

Sounds like I'm paying.

I paid $40 at Olive Garden's for a fun date and $80 at Mario's (fancy Italian restaurant) for a serious date. And somehow she wasn't ready for a relationship. I blew $120 for nothing. :brokenheart:
