w00T! My new P4-1.5Ghz is doing 1.9Ghz.

This chip is so sweet! 400Mhz+ overclocking with only additional 0.05V. It's absolutely stable. It's the new king of overclocking.

I have TH7 II, which has the option to run AGP/PCI at 66.66Mhz no matter what the FSB is. But RDRAM is running at 508mhz instead of 400mhz.

<< It still says "intel" on it and costs too much >>

What are you talking about?

Intel P4 1.4 is around $109
Athlon 1.4 is around $127

Intel P4 1.9 is around $251
Athlon XP 1900 is around $236

Where's the big savings buying the AMD?

Besides that........... a P4 with RDRAM smokes the AMD.

I would like to see a P4 1.9 Ghz smoke a Athlon XP 1900....you'd be in shock if u saw the results. Rambus ram is numbers, DDR ram is more efficient. PLUS READ THE ANANDTECH REVIEWS!!! the Athlon XP 1900 (which is 1.6Ghz incase u didnt know) is beating a P4 2.0 Ghz...what smoke are we talking about?

GO AMD!

Damn! That's a sweet overclock Link. That sucker must be pumpin' out some serious wattage. What are your temps with that Cooler Master?

That might (might) be true today, but what are you going to say when the Northwood is mainstream?

BTW.......My P4 (478) 1.7 purrs right along at 2.0+

Reading 40F at idle and 48F after a few hours of CS.🙂
Guys, I'm not here to start another AMD vs. Intel war. It's all and only about overclocking. So let stop the old issue right here right now!

dood..... AH doood... ur smokin some serious crack man. the northwood might (might) beat AMDs XPs but what about AMDs new release.... anyhow,
stop talkin about the future. u got no facts to back up what u say, so dont make assumptions (because u end up making an ASS umption of your self).

and if you want to talk about the predictions, what happened b4 the p4 came out.... everyone thought it would kill AMD, guess what.... NOT!!!

ok... sorry about that, back to the post.

Nice overclock!!!! most of my AMD chips clock about that too. WELCOME to the 400MHZ+ club 🙂 enjoy your stay and have a nice day😉

Northwood is not going to save the Pentium 4. It will just make the processor stronger at what it is already stronger at -- memory dominated benchmarks. In everything else that it sucked at -- it will suck at them. The Pentium 4 microarchitecture requires a faster clock speed to outrun an Athlon. Which is fine, since that's what the architecture is designed to do -- go very high in clock speeds.
