first of all, thanks to all those who pointed me in the right direction as far as purchasing is concerned.
overall i'm pretty please. the PSU was a fairly nice jump from my cheap 500 watter which developed a noisy fan and was too loud to begin with. the quieter operating is also very nice along with the peace of mind of good stable voltage rails.
did some overclocking to try and take the 3.0C a bit higher. hit 3.75ghz due to this PSU's extra beefy injection of current. i managed to boot into windows @ 3.75 and run some benchmarks at a lower Vcore than before, but unfortunatly, prime still didn't like it. booting into windows and ran some 3dmock but quite obviously far from stable until torture test proven.
3.69 - 3.7 "stable" was my target but since i plan on keeping this PC for a while, didn't want to feed the chip anymore voltage than 1.55V and i had some trouble trying to stablize it at these speeds. so, eventually i backed off the OC as i wanted something that won't give me any unwanted supprises.
brought it down to 3.66ghz @ 1.53V (actual V) and it's running just great. torture test ran for 15 hours so far and it's soldiering on. just browsing on the notebook while it keeps going.
