W00t, just bought the new MS Keyboard

😉

Ahh. Mine at home is dying on me, I've been waiting for the new one from the OP to go down to like 30.

Of course, I am out of college and make money now... I shouldn't care that much about 10 bucks.

I'll wait til it's around $20. I got the multimedia natural keyboard for that price. It's nice and all, but I hate the F-Lock and how it always defaults to OFF. I also hate how you have to turn off F-Lock to use PrintScrn. I play wow and I use the f-keys a lot and take screenshots, so it's annoying to have to switch back and forth.

Hey OP. Is the new keyboard like this?

That's why I never use the extra "F-key features" of my Logi Elite. I just leave F-lock on all the time. (then again, printscreen isn't an F-key with my keyboard 🙂)

yea i got my ms multimedia natural kb for about 20 too..oem online is cheap😉

fkeys...yea annoying, but its less so when you don't reboot much anymore i guess. only time i turn nit off nis print screen too

I just got one and everything is nice except for the space bar, which seems to need more pressure to hit down with my thumb. when I type I use my right thumb almost exclusively for the space bar, and about a quarter of the time the space bar on this one doesn't register. I wonder if this will work out over time?

Edit:

Hey toekramp -have you had any troubles with the spacebar on this keyboard?

Did a bit ofchecking and found a number ofconsumercomplaints (or perhaps observations is the better word for it) on amazon.com about the spacebar "flakiness". It does indeed seem to have some "hotspots" and "coldspots" which make it hard to register about 30% of the time.

Thats because you're typing incorrectly. You're supposed to be using your left thumb.

That, and the god damn F-lock keys still piss the heck out of me.

lol...well bro, i'm not gonna argue with ya, but unless your standing behind me, it's debatable. anway...i think that's the way its gonna have to stay for me...I started using the elite natural in college and this has never been a problem for me. This keyboard seems to register most spaces, but when I get goin' (ie typing really fast) that'swhen I notice it.

As an illustration, i left in the parts in my above post andthisone undedited to show where the space doesn't register. interesting to say the least, but i'll give it some time to see if it shapes up. and by time i mean like, inthe next 30 minutes or so...hehe😉

I haven't had any issues so far...perhaps I'm just hitting it in the right spot 😉

PrintScrn is not associated with the F Keys, so no need to worry about whether it's locked or not (just tested it)

No, it isn't. I just bought mine yesterday, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! If you use the F-lock, and restart, the F-lock stays on - I have a work program that uses the F keys, and I want it on all the time. And it has the insert key in the *correct* spot.

I'm not sure about the riser under my palms but I'll give it some time.
