Wrote a couple of big checks yesterday, and I am now officially debt free. No credit card debt, no car payments (I drive a 1990 Honda Accord), no nothin! About 1.5 years ago I decided I really needed to clean up all my debt before I got married (which will happen in about 6 weeks). It took a lot of saving, some timely bonuses at work, and I had to resist the Hot Deals and FS/FT forum. Alas my computer has sacrificed, it's only a P2-450 hehe.

That's gotta be a nice feeling. I haven't been out of debt for a year now. It sucks.

Now it is time to take on some new debt and buy a house!!! :D Actually... that is an investment... so it's all good.

Congrats!

Although having debts does help on income taxes. If I didn't have the house as a deduction, the government would really eat me alive!

Well the ring is paid for already, the honeymoon is not gonna be too expensive, we're spending a week at Virginia Beach just chillin and relaxin. I really do want to upgrade my computer, but I'm gonna hold off for a little while since I'm gonna be living out of a hotel room for the next 1-2 months (I'm moving to the New York area for a job transfer). I do want to buy a laptop though hehe, but I now have the money so that I could buy one without goin into debt :)

Well having a mortgage helps out on income taxes, the government doesn't give squat for credit card debt though. I wish it did hehe.
