Lol, wrong. Watch CNN right now, the reporters are hammering the guy about the BS he just spewed out, and notice he has no answers to their questions. Are you all blind? The reporters are all asking the same question, what threat to AF1, first he says the planes then he says he cant disclose, hes circling, and knows it...Govt BS..honesty is the best policy, just making themselves look like they trying to cover up and that they made a mistake in sending President to Bunker, they should have stuck to their original story, now their spewing BS with no confirming info whatsoever, and the reporters know he just made the stuff up because you cant deny or confirm the info, so they think they will get away with it. Hopefully media will drop it and just move on to more important things.

<< LOL, I am not on Snows side what so ever, but lets get real, they said in the same reports that they put this info out about the targets of WH and AF1 BECAUSE of the criticisms mounted by republicans, democrates, etc on why he took so long to get back to DC. C/mon people, you hate Snow, but dont let that blind you to Govt BS. Any intelligent person that knows anything about planes knows that there aint no way in Hell a 747 or whatever size it was is going to be able to maneuver into a position to ram it, thats just ludicrous. AND if there intelligence is so good about the WH being a target, where the hell were they BEFORE we were hit. And notice how they give no concrete reference on how they knew, just that they know. He should have just left it alone, and stuck with his first comment that that his security staff strongly recommeded that he go to the bunker against his wishes to return. >>

If they were going to try hitting AF1, they would probably do it when it was on the ground. It's just plain ludicrous to try doing it in the sky.

I agree that the information that the White House and AF1 were targets could be false. But let me ask you something: Why would you want to risk the president's life by prematurely sending him back to the White House? We already had the tragedy, you can not justify risking the president's life at that time so he can speak to the nation. If he would have been assassinated, the chaos would be even more extraordinary. I find it sad that they may have had to make up that information just to please the people who thought he should have been at the White House earlier. It would not have made sense to risk his life at such a time.

the president should not have gone back to DC yesterday. He is a symbol of America. His death would bring the nation to its knees, and his protectors know this. Like it or not guys, his protection knows more than all of us what really happened.

<< Get over it people.

Fact of the matter is, we are ALL ignorant, and those who claim otherwise have not only transcended all others with their ignorance, they're manifesting their immaturity as well. NO ONE knows exactly what went on, why Bush went where he did, etc.. The simple fact is (or at least what we're told) that he wasn't in DC at the time, and I'm going to believe that there was a strong reason for this decision.

Well said, I couldn't agree with you more.

Maybe you'd rather the Gov. just spew out all of their procedure in any incident so that next time the terrorists know exactly how to procede huh?????;) LOL! My God, get a clue.....just hours ago they stated that they still could not be certain there would be no more attacks and now you'd like them to give out their entire agenda?????

Okay lets assume for a moment I agree with you that he shouldnt have come back to the WH, thats just one opinion of what a President should or should not do. My earlier post was to point out simply that the "perception" of others were that the president was hiding, whether he was or not is not the point, its the "perception=realty" syndrome. By beef is the Govt now at this time, not yesterday, coming out with this BS that contradicts the CIA and Intelligence info yesterday stating clearly "AF1" is secure and not a target. So if they thought that yesterday, then why let the WH staff spew out crap now saying it was a target to simply try to convince those that wondered why he didnt come back right away? Again, all the WH staff will say is simply we have info that they were targets, but when questioned that yesterday they said it wasnt...NO Comment, when asked what eveidence they have that AF1 and WH was a target, again No comment. So lets say they do have real info, why withhold, can they that shortsighted to see that releasing conflicting info with no means to back it up will weaken their case not support it? Does no one else see this, or is it just me and that room full of reporters on CNN ;)
Oh edit to the above, read the post please, the info he was spewing out is past tense, IE already happened, in the past, done, over with...there I think that might help you in your Phonics j/k What possible reason could he have for not saying how they knew these were targets, not specifics, but like intercepted msg? information recovered from suspects? etc. You dont present a case with no supporting evidence, and no I don't trust everything the Government tells me. Again remember this info was released IN RESPONSE to critisims, so how convenient to just say, Oh now we know he was a target, we were wrong yesterday, sorry, oh proof?um well we have none or it would compromise national security.

To those with anti-anti-bush remarks:

Not all dems were slamming bush just as not all repubs were slamming the previous administration.
I'm one of those that was not. For once, I think Bush's, the Bush Administration, the Secret Service... etc. etc... all their actions were appropriate.

Remarks towards either party or putting the blame on anyone but the terrorists right now isn't cool, but it is both parties that are doing it. Partisan politics are suck.

I watched it and it seemed pretty "status quoe" for a Gov. response during a crisis or at war.........give only info that can be trusted as secure and useless to any perpitraitors either inside or outside. Think back to past crisis......stories were reported only to be changed or corrected in the following days. I don't see the comments as deflectory or unanswered, more like the same information given in most disastors or crisis situations!;)

Okay, Bush was in Florida yesterday. The FBI has detained several people in Florida today. Bush left Florida earlier than expected yesterday. Maybe more terrorists were planning another hijacking in Florida which they would have used to hit AF1?

<< You dont present a case with no supporting evidence >>

LOL! You also don't tip off the perpitraitors you are searching for with everything you know and all the details!;) In addition, what good would it have done for them to announce that the President's plane is a possible target right now as he is flying????? Would it have been better to scare the whole American public? I mean a statement like that could have made it sound as if they had no idea how many more planes were coming or where they were since it was announced the President would not be returning to DC as planned...................You just don't start a panic throughout the land with a statement like that!;)
