So I'm driving home tonight, and some idiot comes flying off of the interstate off ramp and nearly clips the front end of my car . . . of course, his car is equipped with a spoiler. Surprisingly, though, his exhaust pipe was standard - I guess he hasn't heard about the horsepower-improving properties of the coffee-can exhaust pipe.

You mean the Integra SIR or an Accord SIR? Never heard of an Accord SIR but I could be wrong.

I see ... nice specs. But I wonder would I rather have low torque at low rpm or high horsepower at high rpms? I guess that there is some balance somewhere but I'm thinking that i'd rather have the driveability of low torque for the city since you don't go that fast except for the highways. Does anyone share this view? I mean, I love the Honda s2000 but the kind of skill that you have to have to keep it within the 4500-6500rpm range to extract top performance is beyond most people's abilities here. You would also look like an idiot f1 driver transplanted on the street. The real place to drive something like the s2000 would be a racetrack.

I kinda doubt it was a real one.

Except for the stickers, lowered suspension, and spoiler, it looked just like a new Accord.

Not to mention the fact that I ran the little sucker down in my 3.0 V6 Taurus . . . a mere 182 horsepower . . . what's a real VTEC got? 210? 220?

nobody is saying that the s2000 is practical cause it's not. it's like owning a porsch your not going to go 200 MPH but it's still cool to see it on the speedometer

You shouldn't expect to find any torque coming from a Honda engine - they're atrocious when it comes to torque. An Integra GSR puts out 195HP (not bad for a 4 cyl but...) 129ft-lbs of torque (!!). Pitiful or what? My 93HP engine puts out 120ft-lbs. Twice the HP and the torque is in the same range, just doesn't seem right. Even the engines in the Accords and Civics are doing pretty bad when it comes to torque, just look it up... (blah)
