It seems that vsync is not disabling properly on my system. I have a 9500 Pro Athlon XP 1600+ 512 MB nForce2.

I disabled vsync in the drivers but after reboot it may be on.

I notice because I like running 3Dmark 2003 to look at the graphics and test my system and after a reboot the video in all but the wings of fury test stutters a lot. It is basically like 1-.5 FPS not the actual 20-25 average reported. The score is 3300 in the end.

Now I open control panel and simply move the slider around, put it back to always off and apply.

Now 3Dmark suns as smooth as it should be and the score is still 3300.

I don't think this is having much affect on my games but I don't know as the toughest games on this system are UT2K3 and Unreal II.

Anybody know why I am having this effect and if possible how can I truly disable vsync?

Thanks

Also I am using the 4.2 based Omega drivers but this seems to occur regardless of the driver.

Why would it be a bad card? Is this in some way an indication of hardware problems?

Don't use Omega drivers, use the latest 4.4s from ATi. And be sure to remove the old drivers before installing new ones.
