I really hate people talking about sm3.0. I think everybody nows what it is, so is there really any reason that people have to keep posting this junk? I'm sick of people saying that nvidia cards are completly superior to ati ones becuase of sm3. It's just stupid.

What????? You man have some kind of problem. No way am I saying ATi will look horiible, or making a SM2.0vsSM3.0 thread. ATi cards will show it in 2D while Gforce 6 will do it in 3D, that's only what happens, what do you want me to say?? Not in 3d?? :|

That would be an opinion and possibly a flame-war trigger. He's merely telling you a system requirement. If you have an ATI X card, it doesn't fulfill the requirements. The truth must be real hard to swallow for some, I guess. No, I don't have anything against ATI at all. It can probably do a good simulation just using SM2.0.

Hello...I'm a little late, but i saw this demo with a 9600, and it looks like ass. Now, i know that you can do better with SM2.0 (far cry water), but this shows what displacement mapping can do.

I don't see why everyone gets mad at these threads...ATI cards cant use this yet, 6xxx cards can...is there a problem with that? Does everyone have trouble accepting that SM3.0 might be a very good thing?

I'm confused

Nice demo though, it looks REALLY nice...can't wait for games to really use SM3.0 now.

No, most people do not consider Leadtek fans loud at all. That's because leadtek always use very large heatsink assemblies on their cards. They had one of the quietest GF FX 5800's around because of their heatsink/fan design. I can speak from experience when I say their GF3 cooling was excellent as was their GF4 cooling (sold many GF4 4200 + VIVO's from Leadtek back in the day).
