VPN with VPN routers?

a client needs access to the office computer from home. the office machine runs 98SE and has Verizon 'always on' DSL (dynamic IP) and the home/remote runs ME and has COX@home (dynamic IP) cable. there will be occassions where someone will be on the office machine at the same time someone needs to be on it from the home/remote.

according to This by using a Linksys BEFVP41 on either end and changing the Verizon to a static IP on the 'office/server' DSL, i can set up a hardware VPN. correct me if i am wrong.

 
Since both ends have dynamic IP, you likely need to use a Symantec/Nexland VPN router at one of the locations and use a Dynamic DNS service like dydns. The Symantec boxes have the client software for that built in, the Linksys currently does not. If you were to upgrade one of the locations to a Static IP, then using 2 Linksys should work fine.

i'm setting up a couple of offices w/ linksys vpn routers right now. i think u need a router at one end only if at the other end you have the server your going to vpn into.

i'm setting my client up w/ vpn router on one end and win 2k server on other end. the server will function as firewall etc etc.
 
w2k server isn't an option so that is why i think i need the linksys's (what is the plural of linksys?) on both ends.
