VPN help

RBBRMADE

Senior member
I have two linksys VPN routers.

I need the basics of setting up a VPN between the two.

How do I access one from the other once I am set up?

Thanx,
Ron

As far as VPN concern there is two kind of Entry Level Router.

1. VPN Through.

Which mean that the Router is ?Kind? to VPN and let it through, but doe not participate in the actual VPN generation.

2. VPN End Point.

The Router actually can process VPN in its Hardware.

If it is No. 2 then you got yourself a Nice deal.

The following is mainly a collection of Entry Level software issues.

:sun:

Both routers are VPN endpoint.
Linsys BEFSX41
Linksys RV016 (although I am using a WRV54G right now to figure this out).

Thanx for the info!

So, after I set up the routers, then what?

I am told that since we are running terminal services, the tunnel will provide all we need, and the VPN will work without any other software.

Does this sound right?
Do I need to forward any ports, etc...?

Thanx again,
Ron
