At home I have a cable modem that needs to be shared between 3 PCs and a Mac, which we accomplish with a normal hub and my father's win2k PC running ICS with 2 NICs. This saves us extra money for additional IPs and works just fine except that when he logs into his company's VPN, ICS shuts down for everyone else. When he disconnects the VPN it comes back up. He cannot login at all if his PC is not directly connected to the cable modem, so having one of the other PCs act as the NAT machine won't work. If anyone knows of a way to rectify this situation I would greatly appriciate it.

I would get a router and a switch, or a router/switch system. You have the router/switch (most popular Linksys, but I like netgear) route the data, and handle NAT, and it has a built in switch so you can connect multiple computers to it.
