OP, you mentioned in your post that from the ONT, it's feeding to your actiontec modem via cat5 already? If so, there is no re provisioning needed. This is only needed if it's being fed to your actiontec modem via coax. Your being very confusing by your posts. Look at your actiontec, is the cable from the ONT that goes to your actiontec coax (moca) or is it cat5 ethernet? If coax, it needs to be re provisioned. If it's ethernet, then simply remove the actiontec and put in a better firewall/router or go direct to your SNAP VPN appliance. Done.

Well for giggles I tried hooking my laptop directly to the box on the wall with the UPS and I could not connect.

I research the dslreports forum and see what they say.

Do you have a static IP with your FIOS or dynamic? If dynamic, the DHCP lease is 2 hours Unplug the actiontec, wait a few hours and it should work after 2 hours. Verizon says you can release the IP manually by simply power cycling the ONT (Unplug the power and then open the ONT box at the top and unplug the battery cable, this should kill all the lights, then simply plug the battery back in along with the power, voila) If DHCP is not released or expired, you will not get an IP address, trust me, I have tried. And yes, I have FIOS at my home. You can also call up Verizon and have them manually release the DHCP IP as well but I've found it's MUCH faster to simply power cycle the ONT myself rather than wasting my time with their phone system.

OP, is the internet from the ONT to your actiontec coming into the actiontec via ethernet or coax??
