Amendment 2

Somehow the Christian Coalition and Roy Moore convinced this state that it would have increased taxes. It had nothing to do with taxes.

I understand more than you think ;)

Edit: Since it's not my state, I can laugh. Now only if I was Canadian, I could laugh @ us electing Bush.

Hell, I think Bush is much better than Kerry, but saying Negroes = Bad is simply unacceptable to me.

Hey, it's what the voters wanted :p
(Shall I enumerate the list of social issues on the ballot?)

No reason for you to do so because it will never over-power gun-control and taxes.

This is your "moderate" agenda. You should learn to like it because that is what you voted for. The New Confederacy. Bush will pepper the courts with like "thinking" judges who will assist in making sure this sort of stuff becomes the law of the land. Embarrassed? You should be depressed.

Amazingly you are completely wrong! I didn't vote for any of this, and I sure as hell don't see your point(as if you trolling has a point).

Wasn't it only around 2000 that Alabama finally allowed interracial marriage?

You so entirely missed his obvious point which is that pretty much the same voters are the ones who got Bushie boy elected.

The white christian right.

I am surprised that you did not get the connection, you are a smart man

It was around that time. I don't think it has been enforced for quite a while to my knowledge. Every state has antiquated laws that are no longer enforceable but have yet to be repealed.

Besides, it is only a matter of time before the state constitution is rewritten anyway. If not due to the desire of the voters (which is well supported, but many do not trust the current politicians enough to do so), but because of sheer necessity. It is one of the longest, if not the longest constitution in the US and is becoming too long to be useful.

Irregardless of the laws being 'antiquated' or not, they were and are a disgrace at any point in time. Shame.

Well, since the OP was of no help, and I had to find a relevant link for myself, I'll post it for everyone's benefit. Perhaps, as the following article implies, the issue either wasn't completely understood or was improperly lumped in with another that didn't pass the voter's "smell test". I would certainly hope thats the case. The amendment's sponsor should try again and next time make it a standalone issue. If its voted down then, I'd say there's cause for great concern.

You can eat my dick, because I know exactly what I'm talking about. Call me no help, and I consider that a personal attack, so you can get one too. You'd be 100% wrong about it not passing the "smell" test, what it didn't pass was the "I'm a racist moron" test, and that is SAD. For you that is a victory, but for us non-racists we consider it a defeat. Did you recently get promoted in the Aryan Nation you waste of oxygen? Please, you sick individual, explain how it didn't pass the "smell" test. Oh, you mean because Roy Moore -- a complete and total sadist -- said it didn't? You don't even know who he is do you -- well you wouldn't if you weren't a right wing nutjob -- so why comment?

I read the bill. I voted on it. You are from some random place trying to infer you know what the hell you are talking about. YOU DON'T. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THIS TO NOT PASS.

It was completely understood by anyone with an IQ over 60, but you can't deny that the extreme religious right and the trailer megaphones can obfuscate it sufficiently. Hell, that's how you got born, right? If you want to disagree with me on an issue that is fine, but don't say I was of no help you feces imbibing asshat. My two dogs know more about this issue than your entire family, so your pointless conjecture and posturing is exactly that.

Do you want to debate the veracity of this, or do you want to masturbate to your own completely wrong ideas? The choice is yours, because I'd love to destroy you in any debate about this. You lob the first pitch, and I'll hit it back to whatever hellhole in Florida you live in. Fair enough I say...

Hey, thanks for coming in 24 days later and acting like a total moron. I do appreciate your candor, but you've obviously got brain damage. They are doing a recount, but almost 3k votes are almost 3k votes(ahem, Washington) and the fact remains that this shouldn't have even been close to begin with. So please, shut the hell up, and continue your trolling on another day. I'm sick and tired of you partisan asshats that hate Bush or suck him off. All of you are a complete and total detriment to the rational people of this nation.

You obviously chose to attack me without knowing my affliation, but I AM a moderate Republican, but asshats like you make me loathe my own party. It would do us good to make sure people like you are locked up in a loony bin without a right to vote. Hinckley probably knows the issues better than you do!

He can't understand that because he hates negroes. You have to understand the racist mentality of people like Format C:. Black people are the cause of all their problems.

Nah, the gap between people who voted for Bush, and people who voted for this is quite large. If this was a lot less close he'd have a point, but many Bush supporters and Kerry supporters voted for this -- because they have an IQ below Format C's. Hard to have a negative IQ, but they(and him) managed.
