After listening to most of the Pink Floyd albums over and over for years, suddenly I started listening to some of their oldest stuff.
I really liked the song "Free Four"
Most people listening to some of their old stuff wouldn't even recognize that it was Pink Floyd.

HAHA@op + poll

nice 🙂

personally, i don't like pink floyd... i just wanted to see what the poll results were...

It would be much easier to list the PF songs i don't like, as there would only be a couple or 3. And i can't even think of those of teh top of my head.

'Comfortably Numb', along with that entire frikken album which defies adjectives beyond genius. Unfortunatley, the band lost a lot of their 'edge' when Waters left, so I'm less impressed with their music after that even though I respect it.

Paramount's touring laser light show used to do 'One of these Days' from Meddle as their grand finale, and it still sticks in my mind as one of their favorites. First time I've nearly seen a crowd flip out and nearly destroy an arena with the band not even being there. It was that intense.

'Animals' is easily their most under-rated album.

Wow, so many songs it is difficult to choose just one great song. I would say "Comfortably Numb" is probably my single most favorite, but just a *hair* ahead of "Wish You Were Here" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond."

With that being said I am not the typical Pink Floyd fan (at least so I think) in that my most favorite album when taken in it's entirety is probably "Division Bell." I think that album has a lot of Dark Side elements but with a much more mature and well-aged sound and technique. While I think "The Wall" is a great album, it's not my most favorite (just happens to have my most favorite song).

what the hell choice is that

shine on you crazy diamond
us and them
time
comfortably numb
dogs
pigs (three different ones)
high hopes
marooned

Maybe I'm biased towards Roger Waters a bit, but I think Pink Floyd ceased to exist the moment Waters left the band.

AMOLR and Division Bell are IMHO two of their worst albums, yes there are many standout tracks but taken in their entirety they are just lacking. One of the great things about Pink Floyd is that none of their albums sound alike, in great thanks to Waters I believe. All albums made after he left tried too hard to sound like Floyd, which Gilmour and co. were able to do but they lacked the creativity that Waters brought to the table.

Anyways, since we are voting for best song and not album I guess anything under the name Pink Floyd counts.
